In our Özay İnşaat Lodumu Mahallesi Idea Project proposal, an approach has been adopted that will contribute to both the expectations of its users and the developing urban life of the surrounding area.

In this regard, the prominent concepts are permeability, flexibility, sustainability, and belonging.

While creating commercial, recreational, and public spaces on the site, the proposal suggests the use of urban open spaces and a combination of hard and vegetated landscaping to define the main character of the design. A sunken courtyard has been created between the buildings on the first basement floor, providing more sheltered and well-lit open spaces for various uses.

The design aims to create facades for the entire perimeter of the building block that are permeable, inviting, and lively, and to create gateways. To achieve this, the service needs of the building, especially the commercial areas, have been provided from the first basement floor, aiming to minimize service traffic interference with pedestrian flow on a daily basis.

Outdoor life within the campus has been considered in relation to climate characteristics, and suggestions have been made for open spaces that can become semi-open and sheltered when necessary. The goal is to create a street-like atmosphere in both the inner courtyard and the outer perimeter.

On the upper floors, the buildings are stepped back to form terraces, creating specialized open and semi-open spaces for both commercial and residential/office use.

The name “MIX” has been proposed to highlight the project’s possibilities for diverse use and inclusiveness.
